ISABELLE

Direction and Choreography: Annie Kloppenberg (Choreography created in collaboration with performers)

(4:43 | USA, 2025)

Isabelle Johnson (1901-1992): artist, rancher, teacher. In this film, three young women imagine her ghostly presence, re-inhabiting the very land she loved, their action framed by Patrick Dougherty's fantastical installation that weaves local willows--the lines with which he draws--into new spaces as chambers to house our collective imagination.

Shot on location at The Tippet Rise Arts Center in Fishtail, MT, a 12,500 acre working ranch that is home to large-scale sculptural installations set throughout the land and a summer concert series featuring internationally acclaimed musicians. Tippet Rise is anchored in the belief that art, music, architecture, and nature are intrinsic to the human experience, each making the others more powerful.

SENSIBLE

TPWK

Direction and Choreography: Skylar Diane Schmidt

(2:33 | USA, 2025)

*American College Dance Association Selection, Brigham Young University
TPWK is an experiment in the technical elements of choreography for the camera. The piece is focused on the dancers as humans in space and it examines how their relationships to themselves, to one another, and to the viewer are transformed through the medium of film.

WOLF KILLER

Direction: Shuhan Jia | Choreography: Elettra Giunta

(17:22 | United Kingdom, 2025)

A 17-minute, dialogue-free dance thriller shot entirely in London’s financial district, “Wolf Killer” retells the Werewolf party-game (similar game to Mafia) as a corporate hunt for an unseen traitor.

Writer-director Shuhan Jia—deaf since six months old—transforms her heightened sensitivity to silence into choreography, light cues and rhythmic editing, so the story can be read through bodies rather than words. Offering a fresh take on power and paranoia that is accessible to Deaf and hearing audiences alike.
